Lotsys announced the renewal of its ISO 9001:2008 certification, following an external audit that confirmed its conformity to the standards that apply to development, operation, maintenance and marketing of software and services, particularly in relation to games of chance and pools.

Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Ltd (LRQA) carried out the certification renewal audit.

Lotsys has had ISO 9001 certification since 2004.

Lotsys, a subsidiary of Française des Jeux, offers integration solutions and services to lotteries and racing operators. Lotsys has 20 years of experience, prestigious references around the world, and it has already installed around 200,000 terminals in partnership with Safran Morpho. In the past five years, Lotsys has been developing its server business for the retail network and digital channels.

Loto-Québec wanted to bring quick pick online games to the check-out lanes of supermarket stores. This required a system adapted to this specific environment and in synergy with the existing online system. Software specialist Lotsys and hardware expert Morpho joined up to provide solutions for this innovative way to promote “impulse buying.

Integrating the check-out line

Loto-Québec now has 1,830 lottery terminals in supermarkets and drug stores in Québec, providing more than 850 stores with an enhanced gaming solution. Lotsys and Morpho developed the S4 terminal jointly in partnership with Loto-Québec. It is installed in checkout areas and gives players a real lottery receipt, identical to those printed by terminals at regular sales outlets. The S4 terminal requires absolutely no changes to the store’s infrastructure, a major advantage for supermarkets.

Consolidating a partnership

This project further strengthened the bonds Lotsys-Morpho and Loto-Québec have formed in the last few years. The partnership began in 2007 with the delivery of 8,960 terminals and a download server to Loto-Québec, and was followed up with 9,000 ticket checker terminals in 2008.

In a constant quest to improve quality, the Loterie Romande, French-speaking Switzerland’s public service lottery, decided to overhaul the tools and processes it uses to control and announce the results of its draw games. Nothing is more important to customer trust and satisfaction than the integrity of drawings, results and winnings calculations.

Providing key solutions

To do so, the Loterie Romande asked Lotsys to develop two new tools: the Electronic Draw and Results Announcement Server and the Internal Control System. These solutions act on key moments in the draw process: creating automatic drawings, calculating the amount for the winning ranks and the winnings, and controlling and announcing results.

Building on trust and cooperation

Jean-Luc Moner-Banet, General Manager of the Loterie Romande, says, “Lotsys has comprehensive knowledge of the lottery world which enabled them to understand the specific needs of the Loterie Romande and to set up and certify two solutions in record time.” These two contracts resulted from seven years of fruitful cooperation between Loterie Romande and Lotsys.
